Top 10 Female Cartoon Characters (Japanese)

Female cartoon characters have always been hits among the comic readers. This article listed 10 well known characters from the Japanese comic or manga. Some of them have even been portrayed in movie as real human character. Let’s check it out.

1. Mikami Reiko

Being a president and owner of the ghost sweeping agency Mikami GS at 20 years old, Mikami Reiko is a strong-willed first class Ghost Sweeper but yet sexy and beautiful although she is stingy, materialistic and always charged her clients for high fees.

2. Mai Shiranui

Mai Shiranui is a character in both the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters series of fighting games by SNK. Her character was also portrayed in the US version movie titled The King of Fighters played by the sexy Maggie Q.

3. Rei Ayanami

Rei Ayanami is a character from the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. She is the First Child (First Children in the Japanese version) and pilot of the Evangelion Unit 00.

4. Orihime Inoue

Orihime Inoue is a character and major figure in the anime and manga series Bleach. She is a classmate and friend of Ichigo Kurosaki, the main character of the series. Orihime has been highly popular between readers of the manga since her introduction, having ranked high in all of the characters popularity polls of the series.

5. Sailormoon

Sailor Moon or Tsukino Usagi is the leading heroin of the Sailor Moon franchise. Sailor Moon series have been popular during 90’s because there are not only one but 5 beautiful Sailor fighters.

6. Bulma

Bulma is a a girl who appears in the Dragon Ball manga. Although she was portrayed as a secondary main role next to Son Goku earlier in the series, her role developed so well that she even played some big part in the series. She is a scientist as well as an inventor and engineer. Her character was played by Emmy Rossum in the movie’s English adaptation.

7. Chun-Li

Chun-Li started as a video game character in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior which was then developed as a manga and anime character. She was the only female character in the franchise at the beginning. She was even brought into the silver screen with title Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, played by Kristin Kreuk. Chun-Li is well known over the world and has received many praise from her fans as well as article’s top listed female character.

8. Misa Amane

Misa-Misa, which is her stage name is a famous model, singer and actress from the manga, anime and film Death Note. She is a cute girl which is the second Kira after Light Yagami (Yagami Raito) having the Shinigami Eyes. Although she have the Death Note, she is a cute, hyperactive girl being infatuated with Light Yagami.

9. Sakura Haruno

She is a ninja which is the female lead of Naruto anime and manga. Her role developed from stereotype girl whose having love interest with Sasuke to a more firm and wise person as the plot of the story moving more and more exciting.

10. Trixie

Her original name was Michi Shimura. She is the girlfriend of Speed which is both the character in Mach Go Go Go cartoon which is later adapted into English as Speed racer. Being a girlfriend of Speed, she usually fly around in a helicopter during a race as Speed’s advisor and spotter. She was brought to live in a movie of the same name in 2008 played by Christina Ricci.

sailormoon~~~ it makes me think of the secondary school life more than 10 yrs ago :) she was the heroine almost all girls in the class were longing to become.
